The Economic Space Protocol is the general calculus of economic computation: accounting plus a programmable steering loop, expressive enough to encode any economy — capital included, as a special case. PSP is its postcapital instantiation.
The claim is made by construction, and the construction exists. PSP v4 opens by specifying capital itself as a formal accounting network grammar: double-entry rules, the equation Capital = Assets minus Liabilities, surplus computed as scalar profit, monetary units as the universal numeraire, prices as coordination signals, and network-level functions delegated to institutions (banks for credit, forex for currency coordination, clearinghouses for netting). Capital, so specified, is the calculus with its settings fixed and frozen: one universal unit, scalar surplus, stored-value logic, an institutional network level. Frozen is the word: capital does not know itself as an instance; it takes itself for the economy as such. Make the settings programmable and you have ESP: the general calculus in which capital's settings are one expressible configuration among many. Program one richer economy and you have a postcapital space. Distribute the programming permission itself, every network holding the write permission on its own settings, with categories generalized to span both sides (context-specific units of utility beside the universal numeraire; multi-dimensional surplus guided by performance indexes beside the scalar; flow-centric valuation, where no flow means no value, beside stored-value logic; a protocol-native network level beside the institutional one), and you have PSP: the sixth write permission, made protocol.
The category names of the general calculus therefore span both sides. Surplus spans profit and utility surplus. Instruments span money and equity on one side, utility credits and stake on the other. Coordination signals span prices and exchange rates with performance metadata. Capital's price, in the general frame, is a pass filter: the setting in which only one signal is admissible to the steering loop.
The generality is why the bridge is conceivable at all. A bridge between the capital economy and a postcapital economy is writable only in a language that can express both sides; ESP is that language, and the bridge is designed holding this lens.
What ECSA claims here is a model, not a substrate: a formal model of economic computation, an economic programming language, evidenced by a decade of specification with PSP v4 as the existence proof of the general form's expressive power. How the calculus is persisted, distributed, and executed is a second-order question with plural answers; the current pursuit implements it as a file system.
Status: the agentic loop and network-wide conservation laws in draft formalization.
